Upper Marlboro Maryland
Elite Terrace & Garden
Exterior Description
The renovation focused on creating a cohesive, functional, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor environment, utilizing red brick as the unifying element throughout the entire design.
Patio and Seating Wall:
An elegant, raised rear patio was constructed with a perimeter defined by a low, curved brick wall, capped with a light-colored stone to create contrast.
The patio area provides a solid platform for outdoor dining and entertaining.
Integrated into the wall design, a solid brick structure was installed, suitable to serve as the base for a grill or an outdoor cooking area.
Decorative brick pillars topped with lanterns were added at the wall's ends and strategic points, enhancing lighting and ambiance.
Walkways and Pathways:
Winding, serpentine brick pathways in a distinctive herringbone pattern were designed and installed, connecting different landscape areas.
The main path starts at the front and extends along the property, bordered by garden beds.
A secondary brick path connects the back door area to the main patio.
Gardening and Landscaping:
New garden beds with clearly defined borders were created, filled with dark mulch and populated with a vibrant mix of shrubs, perennial plants, and seasonal flowers.
Additional landscaping elements such as decorative rocks were incorporated, and the turf was enhanced to ensure an intense, well-maintained green.
In the entrance and side path areas, the landscaping helps guide the eye and integrates the brick structures with the natural surroundings.
The result is a transformed exterior that maximizes outdoor living space, offering dedicated areas for relaxation, entertainment, and circulation, all enhanced by the warmth and pattern of the brickwork.
